Presidents Conference of NFI in Senegal very successful

From 12-15 May, 2011 the Naturefriends International (NFI) organised its Presidents' Conference. It was for the first time in history that the PC took place outside Europe. ASAN from Senegal took care of the organisation of the 31 edition of the PC. Participants were staying in a Naturefriend house in Dakar, a beautiful house with a very big garden around it including a tree nursery program. On the agenda of the PC were the finances of NFI, updates from several member organisations and an update of the International Young Naturefriends about what happened in 2010 and what they focus on in 2011.

The outcomes of an established working group on the future of NFI were discussed. This document and proposal will get a follow up during the congress of NFI that will happen in Graz by the end of September.

On Saturday there was a thematic conference on Climate change and biodiversity. About 150 representatives of organisations, Ambassadors and even the minister of Environment of Senegal participated in this interesting conference. We would like to thank ASAN, NFI and all participants for the organisation of this conference.
